The Associated Press (AP) Stylebook, used by major news outlets such as the New York Times and the Washington Post to guide reporters in writing news articles, issued new guidelines that state, “gender is a spectrum, not a binary structure consisting of only men and women” and “a person’s sex and gender are usually assigned at birth by parents or attendants and can turn out to be inaccurate.”

The AP contradicts God’s word on the matter, revealed in the Bible, as the Bible says that it is God who assigns gender, either male or female.
“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
Furthermore, the Bible is clear that one should not purposely express themselves as the opposite sex.
“A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.” (Deuteronomy 22:5)
“Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him, but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering.” (1 Corinthians 11:14-15)
God is the one who assigns gender and that is why biology also shows that all humans either have a “Y” chromosome, in which case they are male (XY or XXY), or they do not, in which case they are female (XX). This also holds true for those people who are chromosomally one sex but have the sexual reproductive organs of the opposite sex, sometimes called “intersex.” Such situations are only present in 0.018% of the population.
